Indian Women Kabaddi team win gold

The Indian Women's kabaddi team did justice to their favourite tag by winning the gold medal in the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou on Friday. India beat Thailand 28-14 in the final to clinch the 'yellow metal'. This medal took India's overall gold tally to 11. Women's kabaddi has made its debut in the 2010 Games. The Thai team was no match to the Indian women who showed great skill to open up a big lead early in the contest. The men's team will look to add to their impressive showing at the Games over the years when they face Iran in the final later in the day.
Indian men team, on the other hand, had convincingly won over Japan on Thursday in the semi-finals to enter finals. India did not let Japan score much in the game with the final score as 52-17. If the men team wins gold against Iran in the finals scheduled later in the day, it will be their sixth one, a record in its own.
