Jaganmohan Reddy resigned from Congress, May form new party

Andhra Pradesh, Y S Jaganmohan Reddy today resigned from his Lok Sabha seat and also quit the Congress party. He faxed his resignation to Lok Sabha Speaker this afternoon. In an open letter written to Party President Sonia Gandhi, Jagan stated that he has been suffering humiliation in silence over the political developments that had taken place in the last 14 months and had no other option but to leave the party.
Alleging that conspiracy hatched at his back, he said he was shocked and deeply hurt at the politics of luring his uncle Vivekananda Reddy with cabinet berth paving way for fissures in his family. He also said baseless allegations were lodged against him to isolate and send him out of the party. He said his mother Vijaya Lakshmi, who is representing Pulivendula constituency in the state Assembly, is also tendering her resignation. YSR Reddy's son, Jagan Mohan Reddy, tells NDTV that he hasn't decided what to name his new party. The former MP from Kadapa also said that he is "not interested in destabilising this government" and has therefore asked his supporters, who are MLAS, not to quit. However, Jagan Mohan's mother, Vijayalaxmi, has resigned as MLA from Pulivendula Assembly seat.
