Banswara-Dungarpur to get Rail route soon

Banswara and Dungarpur districts in Rajasthan will soon be linked with the railway network, as the consensus has emerged between the State government and the Railway Board over lying of Ratlam-Dungarpur rail line on mutual sharing basis, an official spokesman said here today. As per the understanding between Chief Secretary S Ahmad and Railway Board Chairman Vivek Sahai recently, the state government was required to bear 50 per cent of the project cost which was estimated to be around Rs 2,050 crore. Besides this, the state government will have to acquire and hand-over about 750 hectare of land on its own expenses to the Railways. It will cost about Rs 150 crore. Likewise, Madhya Pradesh government was also required to acquire and provide land to Railway for portion of project on its soil, he said.
