CBI raids Former Telecom minister A Raja's Home

CBI raids Former Telecom minister A Raja's Home at chennai and delhi office today early morning in 2G Scam case. CBI also raids top officials included in 2G Scam. The residences of four other people are also being raided. Raja was forced to quit as Telecom Minister last month after a report by the government's auditor found him guilty of under-valuing 2G spectrum and circumventing the rules to favour companies who did not meet the eligibility criteria for spectrum licences. Raja is a key leader of the DMK and his party's chief, M Karunanidhi, has defended him staunchly.

The aim of the raids is, purportedly, to collect incriminating documents in relation to what has been dubbed as one of the biggest scams in independent India – the Comptroller and Auditor General in its report had pegged the loss to nati9on’s exchequer at Rs 1.76 lakh crore. The others who are being raided by the CBI scanner include his OSD RK Chandolia and then telecom secretary Behuria.
