Gehlot inaugurated Jaipur Film Festival 2011

Around 150 films from about 50 countries will be exhibited during the four-day Third Jaipur International Film Festival which was inaugurated by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot at the Jawahar Kala Kendra here today. The four-day event was inaugurated with screening of Arun Rehan's film ''Topi''. The shooting of the film--focused on communal harmony and brotherhood-, was done at different locations in the United States. Mr Gehlot accompanied by Tourism, Art and Culture Minister Bina Kak was also among the spectators.
Festival Patron and Principal Secretary, Information and Technology (IT) Rakesh Varma said about 600 entries from 67 countries were received for screening during the festival of which 150 entries of the films were selected for screening during the festival by the Screening Committee. Mr Varma said the annual event which began from 2009, had so far got encouraging response from film producers worldwide.
