NWR Changes Trains Schedules from 1st July

North Western Railway (NWR) has changed the schedule of more than 500 trains in various divisions of Rajasthan. The new time-table will be implemented from July 1. With the new time-table, the arrival and departure time of more than 74 trains from Jaipur Junction will change. Railway officials said timings of several trains departing or passing through the NWR zone will change from July 1. Officials said change in the timings were necessary after increase in speed of several trains due to technical upgradation of trains and railway infrastructure. Many single lines have been converted into double lines, which has increased the frequency of the trains.
From July 1, 74 trains from Jaipur, 30 from Phulera, 23 from Bandikui, 36 from Alwar and 14 trains from Rewari will be affected. Trains of Ajmer, Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions will also be affected. Meanwhile, an American company has been shortlisted for developing a crash-resistant locomotive design for the Railways and subsequently testing the prototype in a real-crash scenario. As part of an enhanced safety measure, Railways have decided to manufacture crashworthy locomotives involving cutting-edge technology. As part of the project, the design for existing diesel locomotives will also be developed and standardised. There are about 8,000 diesel locomotives.
