Rajasthan CM seeks views of farmers for Budget 2012-13

Pre budget consultation between the Rajasthan Government and people from different walks of life continued even as Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, his ministerial colleagues and officials held interaction with representatives of farmers here today to share their views and expectations with the state budget. Speaking at the meeting Mr Gehlot, who also holds the Finance portfolio, said that agriculture and farmers had always been on the top priority of his government. He said that efforts were being made to receive feedback on their expectations in the new state budget to be presented in the state assembly next month. Besides Mr Gehlot, Agriculture Minister Harjiram Burdak, Energy Minister Dr Jitendra Singh, Revenue Minister Hemaram Chaudhary, Rural Development Minister Mahendrajit Malviya, Minister of State for Agriculture Vinod Kumar, Minister of State for Technical Education Murari Lal Meena, Minister of State for Agricultureal Marketing Gurmeet Singh Kunnar, Minister of State for Command Area Development Brijendra Ola, State Planning Board Deputy Chairman Prof V.S. Vyas, Additional Chief Secretary Finance C.K. Mathew and Additional Chief Secretary Rural Development C. S. Rajan were present at the meeting. Similar meetings with representatives of trader and industries and some other spheres had already been held and the processs was still on. The Budget session of the state assembly begins here from February 27, however, the state budget was expected to be presented in the House next month after the union general budget
