The Udaipur division has seven districts comprising of 35 constituencies. The voting pattern in the region remains a decisive factor in the fate of any political party seeking to form a government in the state. In 2008 polls, the Congress won 24 seats from this area and formed the government. In 2003, BJP had taken a lead from this division and reached the throne.
