Rajasthan's Chitraang Murdia has topped the IIT-JEE (Advanced) - 2014 examination. Chitraang, who is from the Delhi zone, scored 334 out of a total of 360 marks. Among the female candidates, Aditi from IIT Roorkee zone has topped the exam securing an all-India Rank of 7. Along with her, there are five female candidates in the top 100. Govind Lohati, a student of Allen Kota, has emerged as the third topper. Amey Gupta, securing AIR 8, is also a student of the same institute. Srajan Garg is Delhi topper in JEE Advanced 2014. He has secured an ALL India Rank of 21. Karan Jain is 1st in Mumbai in JEE Advanced 2014 with AIR 35. JEE Advanced 2014 exam was conducted on May 25, 2014 by seven zonal IITs. The IIT JEE advance exams are conducted to secure admission to the undergraduate programmes offered by the 16 IITs and the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad in Jharkhand. The intake capacity of these institutes is 9,784.

I have an inclination for research and would prefer that over a corporate job," Murdia told PTI. A student of the Delhi Public School, Udaipur, Murdia scored got 97% marks in the CBSE boards. He also took coaching from an institute in Kota.
