Apurvi Chandela, daughter of Rajasthan wins gold in Commonwealth Games 2014. Jaipur girl Apurvi Chandela got India its second gold from the shooting range winning the 10m Air Rifle event at the Commonwealth Games on Saturday as compatriot Ayonika Paul boosted the medal tally with a silver. Apurvi Chandela gave a stunning exhibition of skill and concentration to clinch a gold medal while Ayonika Paul and Prakash Nanjappa claimed a silver. 21-year-old Chandela led from the beginning shattering the Games Record with a score of 206.7 while Ayonika finished a creditable second with a score of 204.9.
About Apurvi Chandela: Apurvi Chandela, born on 4 January 1993 at Jaipur (Rajasthan) is an Indian shooter who competes in the 10 metre air rifle event. In 2012, Chandela won the gold medal in the 10 metres air rifle event at the National shooting championships in New Delhi, her first year in the senior circuit. In 2014, she won four medals at the Intershoot Championships at the The Hague, that included two individual and two team medals.
