Jaipur student shine in CA Exam 2013, Aatresh, Rajan Maheswari, Vijay Bansal in Top 10

Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) on Tuesday announced the results of the final exam conducted in May 2013 and the common proficiency test (paper-pencil mode) held on June 17. Three students from Jaipur among 

Top 10 rank in the CA final examination with nine students have made it to the league of top 50 successful candidates. Three students – S Aatresh (3rd ), Rajan Maheswari (4th ) and Vijay Bansal (8th ) – have secured positions in the top 10, which is probably the highest in the country from one city. 

All top three rank holders of Common Proficiency Test (CPT) are from Andhra Pradesh. The total pass percentage in the exam is 27.02. As many as 86,109 male students appeared for the exam, of which 25.44 per cent passed, while out of the 52,637 female students who appeared, 29.60 per cent passed. The exams were held in 376 centres across the country.  ICAI Jaipur chapter said that this year, 4,428 students appeared in the exam which is slightly higher than last year. This year, 1313 students from Jaipur centre appeared and a total 165 passed the exam.

Rajasthan CM Gehlot accused of buying Facebook 'Likes' from Istanbul

BJP accused Rajasthan Chief Minister (CM) Ashok Gehlot of "buying Likes" from Istanbul for his official Facebook page to project his popularity. Calling it a social media scam, BJP spokesperson Jyoti Kiran said Gehlot's Facebook page, operated by a dedicated tech team, had 1,69,077 'Likes' until June 1, with the highest number of 'Likes' coming in the week of May 5. However, the number jumped to 2,14,639 by June 30, which also overtook May 5 as the most popular week, Kiran said. Until June 1, Gehlot's 'most popular city', a feature that shows where most followers come from, was Jaipur. But after the jump in 'Likes', it changed to Istanbul, she claimed. "Some IT companies are in the business of selling 'Likes' in bulk...giving a false impression of one's popularity," Kiran said and questioned how Gehlot was being so talked about in Istanbul. Gehlot, she alleged, had bought 'Likes' from IT firms in Istanbul.

Congress spokesperson Archana Sharma trashed the allegation. "The CM is a popular figure and he does not need to stoop to that level. 'Likes' on Facebook can come from anywhere, even the United States. What is so suspicious about it?" she said. President Pranab Mukherjee is on 2 days visit to rajasthan. He will address convocations of the Central University of Rajasthan and the IIT Jodhpur during his two-day visit to the state beginning Tuesday.
