Global film festival 2009 will be held at Indore, Madhya Pradesh this year from from 8th to 15th of October. last year this festival was organized at Goa. The eight-day-long festival will showcase important films by national and international filmmakers and will also honour best actor and actresses for their good work in film industry. this was decided finally and a meeting in this regard was held in Bhopal in the presence of State's Culture and Public Relations Minister Laxmikant Sharma, Secretary Culture, Manoj Shrivastava and Film Federation of India's President, Jitendra Jain. He said that the festival will be organised in the city at par with international film festivals.
The state has number of prominent religious, tourism and natural spots where film making process can be encouraged, Sharma added. The Culture Secretary has already held a discussion with cinema halls and hotel owners in Indore in this regard and discussed modalities for showcasing the event, the sources added. this will be a good move for MP Government to show the rich culture and tourism of Madhyapradesh.
