Vasundhara Raje asked to quit as Leader of the Opposition in Rajasthan

BJP leadership's directive to the Leader of the Opposition in Rajasthan Assembly, Vasudhara Raje to quit her post, infighting and tussle within the saffron party's state unit has intensified. The trouble erupted on Sunday last with a face-off between Ms Raje and senior party leaders including state president Arun Chaturvedi, during a meeting. The face-off, which marred the meeting, precipitated yesterday when Raje loyalist and party state general secretary Rampal Jat tendered his resignation and expressed his dissatisfaction over Mr Chaturvedi's "attitude". ''The party State Chief did not defend me'', Mr Jat complained.
while there is rumor that party Chief Rajnath Singh had already asked Ms Raje to tender her resignation as the Leader of the Opposition. A formal announcement in this regard is expected to be made on sunday. However, sources close to Ms Raje denied that she had got any directives from the high-command. Over 20 of the total 78 BJP legislators participated in the meeting and/or discussions and they were gearing up to leave for New Delhi to defend Ms Raje before the leadership.
