New Pay for College lecturers in Rajasthan approved

The five-member committee appointed to implement revised pay scale for the university and college teachers has recommended that working lecturers should be given the pay scale of assistant professor and associate professor along with the designation. The committee has also recommended that the college principal should be given the pay scale of professor along with the grade pay of Rs 10,000 while Rs 9,500 grade pay has been fixed for the vice-principal. The committee has recommended that the pay scale for the teachers falling under pay-band 3 and 4 should be fixed according to the formula of the state government.
In its report, the committee has recommended that the revised pay scale suggested by UGC for professor, associate professor and assistant professor could be accepted. The committee was of the opinon that the cadres of librarian and physical trainer should also be given the benefit of revised pay scale with designation. The committee has recommended that the revised pay-scale should be implemented from January 1, 2006 and the 40% arrear should be paid in the current financial year while remaining 60% be paid after the regulation notification of the UGC and amendment in the statute of the universities.
