Abhijit Beniwal tops RPMT 2010 Examination

Abhijit Beniwal, a student of Bikaner Boys School, has stood first in Rajasthan Pre-Medical Test (RPMT) examination. The results were announced on Monday. He thanked his teachers, who, he said, inspired him to appear for competitive exams like AIIMS, AIPMT and RPMT. “It was a challenge for me to excel in RPMT without private tuitions. My teachers went that extra mile to assist me,” said an elated Abhijit. He scored 533 out of 600. In less then a month, it’s been a triple bonanza for the topper, who bagged 200th position in the AIPMT exam and scored 93.2% in CBSE Class XII-Science. Both results were declared last month. He’s been a meritorious student throughout and has won several awards in various inter-school competitions. “My elder brother is my inspiration. My brother’s excellence has motivated me and I have always tried to follow him,” said Abhijit. His elder brother is studying MBBS at Sardar Patel Medical College (SPMC).
Abhijit can get admission in any top medical college in India, but he has surprised his teachers and friends when he decided to get admitted to SPMC here. “It doesn’t make a difference if you study in Delhi, Jaipur or Bikaner. Success comes with hardwork and dedication which can be achieved anywhere,” he said. He feels that small-town students are more hardworking. He, however, said students of smaller town are usually ignorant of the opportunities and examinations. He said he got a clear picture of the scenario of competitive examinations from his elder brother.
