BSNL Landline offers 180 Sec Local, STD calls from 1 December

BSNL Landline reduces call rates from 1st december 2010 by offering 180 Sec Local, STD pulse from 1 December which will again fuel the Tarriff war as now BSNL Landline STD will be far lesser than Mobile subscribers which offer 50 Paisa/ Min on average while BSNL will now offers 33 Paisa/ Min.
Landline surrender rate has always been a cause of great concern for state telecom PSU BSNL as mobile telephony continues to make great strides and customers fail to find any reason to continue with their good old landline. BSNL in its attempt to bring back some glory to its relegated landline and generate some attraction towards landline has come out with this new offcer across India.
BSNL landline customers can now call any landline of any operator across India with a pulse rate of three minutes and calls to these numbers will be treated as a local call. So now all STD calls to any landline across India will be treated as local with pulse rate of 180 seconds. Normally BSNL landline offers pulse rate 120 sec for all landline numbers falling after fifty kilometers.
