Rajasthan Spurious Liquor Kills Five More people which rise death toll to 19. This accident appear Shortly after last 9 life, five persons died today in Pali district after consuming spurious liquor allegedly supplied by the same seller even as Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot admitted a police-seller nexus in the trade and announced suspension of 10 officials including cops. Total,10 people have died in Jodhpur and 9 in Pali town. A total of 53 people were still being treated in hospitals, official sources said.
Rajasthan Government has handed over the investigation of the hooch tragedy in Jodhpur and Pali towns to the Special Operation Group (SoG) of the state police. The decision in this regard was taken at a high level meeting held at Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot's residence here late last night. Mr Gehlot took serious exception to the tragic incidents and said an effective action plan should be formulated to prevent the recurrence of such incidents in the future. "If such a tragedy takes place in future, the excise officer of the area would be held responsible," he said.
