Vice President calls upon youth to work for national progress

Vice President Hamid Ansari today called upon youths to observe self discipline and work for development and prosperity of the nation with progressive and cooperating mindset. Inaugurating the National Youth Festival 2011 at MB Stadium here this afternoon, the Vice President said that healthy and self disciplined youth force with due sense of social responsibility was key requirement for a speedy progress and prosperity of a nation. He said that despite the fact that youths constitute a major portion of India's population the nation was yet to achieve its due. ''The young generation is required to play role for the nation with looking forward and cooperating mindset and help the motherland to achieve due progress and prosperity,'' Mr Ansari said.
Paying tributes to Swami Vivekanand on his birth anniversary, the Vice President said that the Swamiji had worked to project India's pride heritage and conveyed the message of love and unity. ''Swamiji showed path to the nation and the young citizens are required to draw inspiration from his deeds and message,'' he exhorted.
